SXSW London is over and we’re reflecting on a jam-packed four days of engaging conversations, exciting interactions and showing off our tech! It was an honour to be invited to exhibit at UK House, the festival’s hub for British innovation and creativity.
For anyone excited by the intersection of music, film and interactive media, South By Southwest (SXSW) is more than just a conference, it’s a mecca. Each year, the show attracts tens of thousands of people from around the world; from business leaders to celebrities. This year saw the launch of the first ever festival outside of Texas: SXSW London, further proof that our capital city is truly a hub for innovation. UK House offered a platform for everything from panel discussions to book launches to musical performances, and our holographic technology took centre stage.
Showcasing our SmartV Digital Avatar and HYPERVSN Prime, we invited visitors to explore immersive experiences and witness first-hand the incredible capabilities of AI digital humans. There were many ‘wow’ moments seeing how people engaged with our 3D holograms but the highlight for us was when Mike met Mike! Board of Trade Advisor and The Apprentice interviewer Mike Soutar gave his toughest interview yet when he grilled our digital avatar, also called Mike. Mike Soutar shared his encounter online, saying: “I didn’t expect to be pitched to by a hologram. But there he was – ‘Mike’, a smart, charming AI creation […] confidently explaining why he should be a candidate on the next series of The Apprentice. Witty. Articulate. Never needs a lunch break.”
Artificial intelligence and immersive technology took centre stage at SXSW; there was an immersive AI-enabled art installation, a number of XR demos and talks with leading innovators. All in all, SXSW London was a success, giving HYPERVSN yet another platform to share how 3D holography is transforming how we experience the world around us.
